About
I started photographing ceramics for Anita Besson when I was 23 and gradually over the years I have worked with many of the best contemporary ceramicists, sculptors, galleries and museums. I have twice been invited to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to photograph pre-Islamic art for exhibitions at the Louvre in Paris.
I have been lucky to meet and work with makers from all over the world. Being able to handle many of the objects that have passed through my studio is one of the rare pleasures of my job. Often the next time I see the work it is behind glass in an exhibition where handling just isn't possible.
I have worked closely with the Crafts Council and Southern Arts offering lectures in photographing art works and the importance of self promotion. I continue to work from my South London based studio and travel regularly documenting artists’ work globally.

I'd like to thank all of the artists whom I have had the pleasure of meeting over the years, my assistant Marta for helping to compile this website, Matthew Hall from www.erskinehallcoe.com for providing many of the artist's biographies.
